Cerrig Arthur is the remains of a stone circle high above Barmouth, believed to have been part of a larger circle, its position has clear views to the highest mountains in the area, Diffwys and Cadar Idris.
This print was produced for the Old Roads, Ancient Tracks exhibition at Oriel Tŷ Meirion, Dyffryn Ardudwy in 2021. My pieces looked at key landmarks along the Ardudwy Way, which follows old drove roads for 25 miles through ancient Meirionydd. The three landmark works followed my now established format of combining real landscape with imagined strata reflecting history and culture.
