Saltways was part of my early research into Cheshire salt for my MA final project. I investigated the changing nature of the export of Cheshire salt. The project used investigation into the histories and futures of the movement of this vital commodity and its entanglement with colonialism and globalisation as an inspiration for my creative practice, and as a method for evaluating and developing my own connection to the landscape in which I live, and to the people of the area.
