A Christmas card design from 2015, I moved from underwater to below the ground The strata began with the newest layer, snow, and went back in time through leaf litter, creatures in the soil, to an ancient rock carving pattern depicting early human time and finally geological time through layers in the rock. The execution is crude, but we can see that my ideas have been developing for a number of years.
